Program and Write

May 12, 2009

The team is practicing for next year's FLL transportation challenge by doing an old challenge.
We also talked about our Toyota tour and wrote up some thoughts and wrote thank you letters.

Hope was most impressed that the water, plastic, and metal is all recycled or reused. She thinks
that they need to use those little carts over where the dunnage is picked by forklifts.
"I was very impressed by how "green" Toyota is and what a good neighbor they are to the community.  I also was impressed by how happy the employees seemed.  I wish I could say the same about my workplace. Thanks so much, Hope Romine"

Clayton said that he liked that they are environmentally smart. I had the most fun at the plant because I liked seeing the robots working together.

Stuart said "I enjoyed the robots that follow the magnetic tape that is on the floor. I think that it is funny that they play music. I find it amazing how organized the manufacturing process is from beginning to end. I really enjoyed my visit to your plant. Thank you so much and keep up with the good work."

Bradley said "I liked the many different types of robots throughout the factory. The robot I liked the most was the one with the picture and thought for itself (almost). As the team captain I seriously want to thank you for your time."

"I liked the tour and could have gone around three more times seeing interesting robot motions.  I was surprised how many more people there were than I had thought. Thank you for letting us view the plant in action." Linda Hamilton (mentor)

Nathan said "The robots were interesting - like the orange arm that saw where something was and rotated around to pick it up and put it on the conveyor belt."

Thank you for letting us tour your Toyota plant.  We are going to do the FLL 2009 challenge on transportation and your information on using robots in building motors is giving us insights into good, safe and efficient ideas for building cars.  I was fascinated in all the steps the the tour and would have loved watched for hours.
