Boom

The Big Boom Construction Contest

The boom has to fold in half.                  String under stress used to hold the boom straight.

One student holds one end of the boom firmly on the table by the end plate.

It can not dip below the table height.

Then the length is measured and how high the end is above the floor. Then the weight brick is added to the end.
The deflection is measured. (Deflection is the height from floor with out brick minis the height with weight brick.)

The score is the length minus the deflection.
