Beating Hearts

February 14, 2013
Beating hearts or dancing Valentines can be made from the red sets, black sets, or WeDo.

The key part for this activity is that the 24 tooth gears have holes in them where "pistons" can  be added.
The axle from one side of the project to the other must be flush with the gear and not stick out even a little.

For WeDo use a tilt sensor as a wand.

Up will make the motor go one way and down another
Lay it flat and the motor will stop.

Projects can be geared together or motorized with pulleys on the same motor.

One motor can be used as a generator for other motors.

Thanks, daughter.
