November 10, 2001 Marshall University Continuing Education
After seeing the robotics at Davis Creek Elementary and
the LEGO City at Marshall University,
students built and programmed their own LEGO Robotics using
the LEGO Dacta Cities and Transportation sets and some pneumatics.
Only a few minutes of instructions and these students had great ideas for programming, building, and safety.
Three main projects were built. Pneumatics for doors allows safety through compliance.  When something blocks one door there is give in an other part of the system.
The Monorail had touch sensors at both ends and technician at the other touch sensor.  The timing was increased on the stops to be sure every one could get on safely.
The crosswalk and gate had light sensor key for control and a touch sensor for safety.  If something blocked the gate it went back up.
