Culloden Fifth Grade
Intelligent Transportation
LEGO City

December 18, 2003

After a few weeks of working in pairs to learn to build and program the LEGO Intelligent transportation set,
this entire fifth grade of 16 students built an Intelligent transportation system.
They grouped themselves and decided on projects.
I could see they were ready since decisions and organizing went so smoothly.
The City was placed under their Christmas tree.

Some set up the back ground before starting to build.

This is an example of how good their art work is.

The components were programmed using RoboLab.
The program was sent from the computer to the LEGO RCX computer through the Infrared Tower.

Then the programs were tested out.

As more and more projects were completed,
groups put them together and figured out ways for the larger system to work together.

Monorail was added to gate with key card, and speed trap.

Monorail was controlled by light and the line follower also worked with light sensor.

It is amazing what students can organize.
