On Friday October 13 I made my second visit to Culloden Elementary. I arrived early as I noticed the previous week that most of the sets were either missing pieces or the sets looked as though they had been dropped and pieces were all over the box. I got to Culloden Elementary early enough to get three sets sorted and completed and then began work with four children from Mrs. Sydnors class. The children worked in two groups of two each built something different together. The kids did very well, were quite well behaved and did very well in constructing their projects and cleaning up when they were finished.
When I sent Mrs. Sydnors children back, I then had four children from
Mrs. Cooleys class come over. Most of the kids had worked with LEGO
sets before in this form, or else had their own different sets at home
so they had no trouble in getting pieces sorted and projects assembled.
Again, the four kids worked well together in groups and were well behaved.
I was very impressed with all the kids, seeing as this was late Friday
afternoon and I expected them to all be mentally at home already.
