Lifts Off On STS 108
December 5, 2001

My son and I were fortunate to be with Mrs. Simon's Davis Creek Elementary fifth grade students
after school on December 5, 2001 and watch the NASA TV broadcast of the
      Endeavor launch on the computers.
Endeavor is carrying six aluminum mirrors ground and polished by students
from Davis Creek Elementary, Barboursville Middle and others  last spring.

We were so glad to see the count down continue less than five minutes after watching the day before.

Lift off is beautiful and all is well.

Davis Creek Elementary fifth grade class keeps the extra mirrors from StarShine I and II in our Marscape box.  We have the DC Mars Red Rover robot that travels around in the Marscape by drivers connecting to daviscreek.cabe.k12.wv.us
 on RED ROVER RED ROVER
If you have access to a Planetary Society's Red Rover site you can log on and drive our robot.  For information to purchase the Red Rover program log onto http://planetary.org
