Turnstile Angle Data

January 13, 2006

The turnstile allows motion one way only.
We are placing an angle sensor at the places that the yellow indicator is
in the Simple Machine set instructions.

This program places the readings on the RCX.

Using Interrogate RCX from the Projects pull down menu lets us see the numbers on the computer, too.

Working with others in the class, we figured out that in the first position
the sensor reading must be divided by 4,
the second position is the correct count,
and the third position the count changes only every 4 people through the turnstile.

Also the angle sensor needs to be facing the opposite way for the middle position
to have the readings positive instead of negative.

We had started the day by programming remotely over the Internet at SENSORS CITY.
See the ball drop?

With changes to the program there is difference in the data.
