Two schools
Two Red Rover FLL Robot Activities
October 21, 2005

for Nardo FLL
Two schools in West virginia have Red Rover Red Rover program.
Nardo 4-H LEGO team in Norway is using RRRR with their FLL activities.
Today Spring Hill and Davis Creek used their RRRR to do species sampling.
The dolphin was instructed to touch the gray fish.
With a camera attached the robotic operators could see where the dolphin was going.

At Spring Hill there is no internet at the moment since the wire was cut during recent heating construction.
In the room the students set up the dolphin with robot and operated the bot through RRRR.

At Davis Creek after school FLL, student's from DC FLL, Barboursville FLL
and after school students used RRRR from two rooms to pick out the fish species.
Actually some of them were Fish crackers.
The students were allowed to eat any fish that they "touched" by programming successful missions.
One of the students was not even in the room when he was able to pick out a fish.

First the table was brought in and set up in Mrs. Simon's room

An old student came in.  She is in the Bville team now.

We checked out the idea of a trained dolphin to help us.

You touch the fish - you eat it.

He was not even in the room when he was able to pick out a fish.

Many of the missions were set up with cracker fish.
The students got their snacks by running successful missions.

We watched the movies sent to us by the NARDO-4H FLL team in Norway.

The bot has light sensor and angle sensor and arm with gear box.

This arm can work for one row of flags.

Working out the pattern to get the flags up.

Younger family members went along with the rule - to push the green button
you have to have helped with that program.
One nice thing we found out is that a program written in RoboLab 2.5.2
and loaded on an RCX  (that has firmware for RoboLab 2.5.4)
can be uploaded on a computer with RoboLab 2.5.4.
