J & S's TRAP DOOR

Building this project on LEGO CAD was very challenging.  The LEGO CAD model required that we build a support torso portion and then take it off to add the legs.  So, first we had to get four 1 x 4's beams and set them under the body of Super Sam, our goat. When we put our connector on it wouldn't go in the right hole. Once it went  in the right hole we put the legs. Then the tail went on easily! The last piece to place on the model was the head. By zooming in we were able to drop the head exactly in place. We had fun!

I have learned that finding food and getting it are two very different things. I wanted to eat something good so I decided to...build a trap to catch food. When the animal walks through the door two walls fall behind the animal and then its trapped. The hook will bring the back walls back up to set the trap again. On the Lego Cad we had problems getting the beams to stay in front of the beams going vertically. The connectors would not go on the right side of the beam. We then figured out that we had to rotate the model to get to the right side.

Our two victims stranded on the Miss Adventure island must build a trap to capture food.  One of the food sources is a goat that was found on the island.  The goat turns out to be an Angora goat indigenous to the area.  The "kitty-goat" will provide milk, cheese, and wool.  The island victims learned to place grain in the food trap to entice the goat for capture.
