Five year olds January 20, 2004 Gears  
Four of the 16 students built these projects with LEGO Duplo Educational materials. After building and learning about gears they demonstrated their projects to the rest of the class.  
Crown gears and spur gears 
mesh so that one can drive the other.  
When one gear drives another they go in opposite directions. With an idler gear between the outside gears go the same direction.  
Crown gear meshes at right angles.
