Count and Color and Shapes
 Highlawn Elementary
December 5, 2005

With the holidays coming, the children listened to "The Night Before Christmas"
before beginning their LEGO projects today.

Counting is always an important thing for these young students to practice so once the projects were built,
the pieces were counted to see how many it took to make it tall or small.

The students measured the lengths of their arms from elbow to wrist
and tried to make a structure that was the same size.

Some other students in the group worked with shapes and colors on the mosaics.
We identified all the shapes, even learning some some new ones.
The students were excellent at remembering their colors.

Before it was time to go, we separated the pieces into their
correct color category and built from biggest to smallest.
