Light Sensor Challenges May 20, 2005
Follow a line to a loop and bring it back.
Go into a cave, make a sound, and back up.
I talked to students and teacher about FLL.
FIRST LEGO League is an
International LEGO robotics challenge for teams of 9 to 14 year olds
that will be doing challenges in the fall.
I brought in a couple of challenges to get students ready for the kind
of building and programming in the fall.
To make an arm that is sturdy, place two plates between two beams and
use the friction connectors.
The geared down 1 to 3 bots were better than the fast 1 to 1 geared
robot.
Line following was easy. The fun part was getting the correct timing.
Two programs were on two different program slots.
Both groups with both bots were able to run the two challenges.
Changing programs and changing light sensor position and other pieces
was done between runs.
It was a good practice for FLL when there will be many challenges in
two and a half minutes.
