Miller Elementary
Gear "Race-E-O"

April 11, 2006
Last week, the students built different cars and experimented with different gears.  This week, each group
was asked to build a car with the same basic frame and wheels.  They had to see who could build the
fastest car by only changing gear ratios.

Different ideas were used including using idlers in the designs.  The class came to the conclusion that
the fastest car consisted of having the largest gear in the set driving the smallest gear in the set.
