Using subroutines, some third graders programmed one bot as others built another.


The students realized that some of the programs they needed 
to write for some of their challenges were going to get long.  
A way of shortening the program is 
using a subroutine which shrinks an entire line of "code" into one icon.


After programming the robot using subroutines, 
the students tried some of the Ocean Odyssey challenges.
