16 by 16 stud LEGO green plates are 5 inches by 5 inches.
These white plates are 2 and a half inches wide - they are half of 5 inches.
These blue plates are one eighth of the green plates.

These black plates are 1 1/4 inches wide. They are half of 2 and a half.
A regular 2 by 2 LEGO block is 5/8 inch by 5/8 inch.
