16 by 16 grid can be made by rubbing with the side of a crayon on a paper over a LEGO plate.

Students at both at VOB and Miller 3rd grade TAG figured out
a formula to find area shapes.
The area is the number of outside bumps divided by two plus the inside bumps minus 1.

Gears

Groups made gear trains


and then put them together

and ran them with motors and NXT programming.
