Classroom
1st and 2nd

The tables in this second grade room were set up in pairs so that the students could
sit adjacent to each other and see the instructions right side up.

This car was a fast build. It has each wheel on a separate axle.

This car has two wheels on a single axle so they move together.

Check out which way is best for making figure 8's.

The LEGO remover can move a very small plate easily.

Making the pulley belts crossed changes the direction.
Changing the size of  the driver pulley and follower pulley changes speed.

The first grade class came in to see the projects.

Then they helped to disassemble the projects.
The teachers had a wonderful plan - the classes switched rooms so the 1st grade could stay and build.

Their project was the merry go round.

Measure to see if you have the right length axle.     This axle has a flat end so the little gear will not fall off.

Done!    Now try them out with a large gear as the driver.

Which goes faster?
