Culloden Elementary Fifth Grade
Gate
November 6, 2003

At the LEGO City there is a gate.
After hearing about the traffic problems from an accident on the highway,
these students built and programmed a gate.

We can operate this gate here and we can teleoperate the one at Marshall from here over the Internet.

They demonstrated the program to the class.
Watch what happens with this program.

Then we got to operate the LEGO City

and see the visitors watch the city traffic
as we teleoperated.

Watch everything go.

Culloden Elementary Fifth Grade talked to Davis Creek as they both connected to the LEGO City.
Red Rover software has a way to SEND messages.

Both schools activated the LEGO transportation.

Monorail is going back and forth.

The children watch it all happening.

The TV camera gets it all.
Broadband:

Dial-up:

This is what the real traffic was like on the way home from Culloden.

Lighted instructions to change route for traffic is part of intelligent transportation.
Perhaps some of these young
or very young students will be part of the intelligent transportation solutions in the future.
