Spring Hill
Setting Up FIRST LEGO League Challenges
September 13, 2006

Linda Hamilton and myself visited Spring Hill Elementary School in the afternoon on September 13 and had four students help lay out the 2006 FIRST LEGO League Challenge mat and introduce them to programming a bot to complete some of the anticipated challenges for this year's competition.  Mrs. Hamilton and myself set up a couple of the challenges we had assembled to allow the students an opportunity to begin programming a bot and see what they could accomplish with the given tasks and a simply assembled and programmed LEGO machine.

One of the kids we had with us that afternoon had worked with Mrs. Hamilton before on a LEGO Challenge and was somewhat familiar with programming the machine.  He was more than happy to help his companions learn how to program as well as explain some of the rules to them.  The small group of students had a fun time in the hour we were there and were very excited when they accomplished one of the given tasks.
