Data Logging

and Inch Worms

May 4, 2011

While one group built inch worms

the other group learned about data logging.

They found low and high light sensor readings in the room.

Then they made runs over white lines and collected light sensor data.

How many white lines did each of these robots go over?

Can you see where the bot was held so that it would not go over the edge?

"This is the coolest data I have ever seen!"

Meanwhile the inch worms were getting ready.

The data contest was to have the bots run over a course and
then just looking at the data tell where the bot started and stopped.

The most important part of the Inch Worm is the pawl and ratchet on each axle
The pawl and ratchet are to be set so that both the front and the back wheels roll only forward.
