100 Shadow

August 21, 2012

Spring Hill 3rd Grade TAG
The objective was to build a creation, that when viewed from above will show exactly 100 LEGO Dots.

But we have found that it is easier to think of the shadow to check the count.
Draw around the object and break it into rectangles.
Multiply to find each area and add them up.

When needing to add more dots there needs to be pieces added that are more than that
so that some studs are connected and the right number more hangs out.

To make one project and not disconnected pieces sometimes they had to be clever on the bottom.

Just like for Jr.FLL they are going to interview people to find out information.
