Christmas Tree

December 4, 2012

I brought in an RCX to program.
The 5th grade class used one for a mobile robot
for FIRST LEGO League 2012 Public Event at Marshall last week.

This is an example of a robot programmed to do other things than move.

We geared down a motor to use as a generator to make the lights go.

Then we programmed RCX to play music and to turn the lights on the Christmas tree to go on and off.

We used loops in the programming to repeat the light on and off sequence
and to replay the music.
We had to figure out how many times to make each loop to have both parts of the program last the same amount of time.
