Day 2 – RTI Class

June 22, 2004

We’re back on the case! We will be programming several bots to perform different

tasks and functions today. The kids will learn a lot about programming through

trial and error, and they will also have to adjust their programs to fit the capabilities of

their hardware. Design and engineering in action!

It’s a privilege to be here again for the RTI training. I’m here as the “trainer to be trained”,

so I’m helping the kids, and learning a lot from them at the same time.

Our robotics kids have the advantage of seeing their bots work, and being able to

make any needed adjustments or changes on the spot.

As scientists and engineers, we often do our best learning by making mistakes, and by trial and error.
It’s important that we work out those problems in the design lab, so that our bots can do the job

they’re required to do in the “real world”.

Communications and teamwork are the keys to any successful collaboration.
