Boy Scout Camp

July 5-7, 2011
The first day the campers decided teams and bots,
tried out the onboard programming to check where all the motors and sensors connect,
used LEGO Education NXT-G to program the robots to go to line, then make programs that used 4 sensors.

They discussed the other requirements and wrote up their programs.

July 6, 2011
The second day they figured out how to have the robots turn right by
finding out how many degrees the motor had to turn.
They used View on the NXT and the monitor on the computer.
They learned about loops. Programmed the bot to go in a square to check the reliability of the right turn.
They programmed the bot to go around a box without touching.
They used forks and loops to make a line following program.
They built an arm and programmed the bots to go out bring objects back.

The two big missions for the last day were
"Cut the grass"
and
Retrieve an object from a maze.

The bot starts in the circle with random "grass" and must push them all out
but not completely leave the circle at any time.

The maze runners used ultrasonic sensors.
