Chair Angles
Click picture for a protractor.
Village of Barboursville Elementary 4th grade TAG
January 4, 2005

Use the Simple machine sets to build the chair.
The range of building times was 3 and half minutes to 17 minutes.
That data was used to make a bar graph.

Find the measurement of the chair at its most upright position
WITHOUT measuring that position.

Use a protractor to measure the angle the chair back makes with the seat
when placed in the first six positions.
Record the data and draw a line graph.

Then using that information estimate the actual reading for the that 7th position.

They did their graphs by hand and then colored them.
