Slot Cars

January 13, 2009

How can the potential energy of a raised weight be used to move a car?

The cars were set up in the slot between two meter sticks.

Thanks to our art teacher the strings are all the same length.
All the LEGO pieces are the same.
The slot cars have three different drive wheels.

Each group ran three trials and averaged the distance that their car went.
The largest went fastest and shortest and the smallest went slowest and longest.

Go LEGO!
