Students at Miller Elementary and student assistants from

built LEGO cars that ran on the strain energy from a rubber band.

15 May MM

This week was the last of the car building at Miller.
End of school is also near for Davis Creek projects.

Some of the refinements and problem areas noted were to put some way to keep the rubber band from catching the wheels and ways to keep the beam parallel so there would not be friction with the axle.  Care was needed to keep the rubber band from wrapping too close to the beam.

LEGO CAD building suggestion and an old set of LEGO pieces were the starting points.
Linda Hamilton is continuing LEGO projects at area schools and now to more of West Virginia with K12 outreach with the Appalachian Transportation Institute.
