Barboursville Middle Science Class
Light Sensor Data Logging
October 9, 2001
While Mrs. Bickel's Science class was studying that plants need
sunlight among other things,
some students used the LEGO RCX and Light sensor to take data about
the light in the room.
The Red Rover software was used to operate the vehicle
and teleoperate the RED ROVER at The Planetary Society Mars
yard in California.
The next class did the same projects and did find that the over
head projector is the brightest place in the room.
Most of the light reading were between 20 and 40 percent.
Some of the students were using RoboLab and
Red Rover for the first time but some had been at Davis Creek or
Pea Ridge Elementary and had used them in elementary school.
