Miss Adventure "Signal"
Working with LEGOCADMiss Adventure Signaling Device
Our two ship wrecked victims are now faced with finding a way to get rescued.
They decide to build a device that will signal a passing ship or air plane.
They want their model to work around the clock so that the chance of being rescued is increased.
They were very fortunate to be able to find enough materials to build a very well designed signal.

Is Anyone Out There?
You have satisfied your need for shelter, water and food. Now it is time to look for others - maybe someone out there can help you get home.  Think of ways to signal to others who might be on the island or, perhaps, in a boat or a plane.  It's time for an SOS!  Well, I've done everything I could to survive on the island but I need to do more! Now it's time to get off of this island.  I don't know if there is anyone else on the island.  I'd love to find some help.  I'm trying to signal other people using... lights and movement.  When we see an airplane we crank our signal and hope to attract attention from any form of rescue.  If  we were not spotted we can always keep trying over and over.  We have not been found yet but we are still very hopeful and  will keep trying until we are rescued.  We can never give up until we are found.  Our trip on this island hasn't been all bad but the race to find food before we starve is one of the biggest challenges of all.  We had many challenges to face but we over came them all.   We got to the island safely and built a home.  We also made a way to get water and food but all we ever wish is to get off this island.  We hope our signal will attract some form of life sometime soon before we starve.  We are hoping to find someone else on the other side of the island but  we don't have enough strength to walk and we can't leave our camp for too long.  Right now our signal is our only hope.  The way it works is you crank the handle and the device spins one way.  Then you turn the handle backwards and the device turns the other way, hopefully attracting a plane or ship or something.  The next thing to do is try to make some sort of vehicle out of the parts from our ship we have left.  It may be tough but we've made it so far and we can make it  the rest of the way if we just believe.

We made two versions of our project.
One we made to crank by hand and the other one we made to run by motor so it would crank while we are resting.
We programed it on the Red Rover software so we could turn it by the computer.  The  hand crank  we made so we
could charge the capacitor.
