The small gears are just to center the main gear over the worm gear.Compare the beams and plates with the 16 tooth version.
Building the measuring device with the 40 tooth gear

One turn of the worm gear makes the 40 tooth gear rotate only one tooth.
One turn went 5.5 inches - 2 went 11 inchesdown load program

Turning slower did not work. But that gave idea for changing gear size for bigger numbers.One liked to turn the handle the other way and one changed sides for the rotation sensor.
Turning clockwise makes the graph go down.  How can the graph start a 0 and go to positive numbers?

Angel sensor is on port 1 of the RCX.16 tooth version goes around faster.
