5th grade awards at Math Field Day

The fifth grade students helped.
Measuring an axle is done by counting how many studs (bumps) long it is.

Levers have different force depending on the placement of the fulcrum.

This can even pick up heavy objects.

Car wheels can be on the same axle or separate axles. Turning is much easier now.

Wheels can be used as rollers

and then a winch can be used to pull in the boat to the rollers.

Pulleys can be used in cranes.

Gears can increase speed.

Small driver gives a slow ride

but a large gear driving a small gear makes a fast ride.

Thanks, fifth grade helpers.
