Spring Hill
Measuring
January 4, 2002
The worm scaler from the AIMS projects in the Brick Layers II book
can be used to measure distances that are straight or even the distance around and object.
Roll the wheel around the object from start to end
counting the number of time the indicator goes around.
To figure out how many inches each rotation is roll along a tape measure
and keep a written table.
We graphed the number of rotations and the inches covered.
It was very hot today so we also used the RCX to find out the temperature.
Using a rotation sensor and and RoboLab Investigator we graphed the rotation data.
Turning the wheel evenly on one direction also made a line.
Rotating back and then forward
