Your Opportunity to Join the Honors College
We’re pleased that you’re interested in joining the Honors College at Marshall University. We are a vibrant community of motivated, high-achieving students from multiple major programs who value meaningful challenges, opportunities, and connections both on and off campus.
There are two pathways to admission to the Honors College. Every eligible student has an opportunity to join us through one of these routes:
1. Invitation Pathway
You may qualify automatically based on your high school academic performance and test scores.
- GPA: 3.5 or higher
- ACT: 26 or higher or SAT: 1230 or higher
You may accept or decline the invitation by following the Invitation Next Step below. When you log in with your MU credentials, the system will check your eligibility. If eligible, you’ll be able to accept your invitation.
2. Holistic Review Pathway
Even if you don’t meet the test score criteria, you may still be admitted to the Honors College.
- Students with a 3.5 or higher GPA can apply through the Holistic Review Pathway.
- This process takes a complete view of your academic record, interests, and goals.
