How to submit your news

The Herald-Dispatch accepts submissions of press releases, photos or stories about things going on in the community.
The preferred method is sending an e-mail to news@herald-dispatch.com.

If you do not have e-mail, you can also fax to 304-526-2857;
or mail to P.O. Box 2017, Huntington WV 25720.
You can also go to our online sub­missions page at

Here are some tips for sub­mitting information:

CHECK TO MAKE SURE ALL OF THE INFORMATION IS THERE:
When sending a release, take a moment to make sure the pertinent information is there,
such as time, date, location and what the event is about. Also, please avoid all-capital letters.

CONTACT INFORMATION:

Please include a phone number and name in case there are any questions about the information you have submitted.

PHOTOS: The best way to submit photos for publication is to submit a .jpg or .tiff file.

If taking a photo, try to get as close as possible.
If e-mailing a photo, please only send one photo at a time as The Herald-Dispatch has size limitations
on its e-mails. Also, please do not fax photos. Faxed photos cannot be reproduced in the newspaper.

KEEP IT SIMPLE: The decision about publishing a press release is based on its content, not its design.
Sometimes an e-mail or a file with a lot of photos or logos will not make it through The Herald-Dispatch spam filter,
so a simple e-mail that describes what is going on in the text is best.
