The Wreck of the "Miss Adventure"
Activity #5: S.O.S

S.O.S. ModelS.O.S. Model

The Wreck of the "Miss Adventure" Activity #5 was to find a way to signal for help. The model had to be very high and move to attract attention of a rescue squad. Jamie and Kevin used a motor and made stilts and stairs to build height. Then they had to figure out a way to make the S.O.S. sign turn. They used gears with teeth to make the sign turn. It was connected to a pulley by a turning rod, which was supplied power by the motor. The pulley turned with a rubber band attached to another pulley. The S.O.S. sign will serve to signal for rescue.
