Notes:
To bring the Red Rover into the Davis Creek 5th grade classroom a parent constructed a Mars Red Rover box. Students like the Mars box with the clear plexiglass bottom that affords them transparent access to all the action! Drivers at the other base can also see into into the classroom and even the student operating the computer that commands the rover. Now the students were ready to plan, design, build, program, and operate the DC Mars Colony. The culmination of our robotics project was to build a Mars Colony using RCX. The Colony included sections for a habitat, air supply, water extraction and recycling, food production, and temperature control. There was also a radiation shield since that is a concern on Mars. The site has been seen all over the world with wonderful results.
