Electrodeposition and Superconductors.
Mixed Metal Oxide Superconduction.
Electrodeposition
holds a number of advantages over
other methods of deposition for the growth of crystalline
materials. The Norton Group has advanced electrodeposition
particularly in the area of deposition of mixed metal
oxide superconductors. The Mixed Metal Oxide
Superconductor Ba1-xKx BiO3 displays a transition temperature
of 32K for an x value of 0.3.
It also displays a number
of properties characteristic of higher Tc materials, including a
flux-line liquid phase, observable in the large crystals produced
using our electrodeposition process.
These tools and others
are utilized to aid in understanding nanomachines and their
related elements through nanotechnology. Nanochemistry is an important
component of our success and is being investigated by Dr. Michael
L. Norton.
