K12 Outreach Project

Davis Creek Elementary in cooperation with the Marshall University Math Department has received a NASA K12 Outreach Grant for the 1998-2001 school years to continue to investigate LEGO Projects. Mrs. Linda Hamilton, a Marshall University Math Instructor, is the principal investigator for this project. Mrs. Hamilton has many years of experience with constructing LEGO models and programming their movement. She will be working, along with several Marshall student assistants at Davis Creek Elementary's 5th grade classroom. Our first journey into the world of the DC Mars Red Rover was October 7, 1998 when the DC Red Rover site connected with another site, Pea Ridge Elementary's after school program. The students at Pea Ridge drove the rover that was located at Davis Creek Elementary. Since that time many other schools have been involved in the K12 outreach.

Davis Creek Elementary has been running a Red Rover program since 1997.
